We are excited to announce that Oliver Jacobs has Signed with United for the upcoming 2021 Northern Championship season!!

Oliver is a product of our youth system at United, playing his junior soccer at the club. During his youth, Oliver featured in many representative teams and was selected in the 2018 U14 Tasmanian State team.

Oliver joined Northern Rangers for the 2020 season and was a key player in their Northern Championship U18 title winning team last year.

Welcome Oliver! We look forward to seeing you play in the blue and white in 2021!!

Northern Championship Senior Men's 2021 player Re-Signing!

We are excited to announce that Will Spicer has Re-Signed with United for the upcoming 2021 Northern Championship season!!

Will is a talented young player who plays predominantly in midfield positions in our senior line up. Will has played with our senior team over the past few seasons, establishing himself in the side as key player during the 2020 season, placing 3rd in the Best & Fairest count last season.

Will is keen to help build on last seasons 3rd place finish on the ladder and is looking forward to working with recently appointed Senior Men's team Head Coach Fernando Muñoz this season.

Northern Championship Senior Men's 2021 player Re-Signing!

We are pleased to announce that Sam Lowe will be returning to the club for the 2021 Senior Men's Northern Championship campaign!

Sam is an experienced player who has been relied on for his consistency and versatility over the past few seasons, playing in various positions across the backline and midfield. Sam will play a key role in Head Coach Fernando Muñoz's side as one of the more experienced players in the squad for the 2021 season.

Sam arrived at United in 2015, playing a full season with the senior team and returned to the club in 2018. Sam quickly took on the senior team captaincy during the 2018 season, being one of the more experienced players in a team predominantly full of youngsters and also took out the Best & Fairest award that season.

Sam enjoyed a solid 2020 season for United, and played a key role in guiding the team to a 3rd place finish on the ladder.

Welcome back Sam, We are looking forward to another big season in the blue and white!

Women's Super League squad 2021 player Re-signing!!

We are excited to announce that Nichola Clark will be returning to United this season as WSL team Head Coaches Lynden Prince and Frank Compton look to build a strong squad for our inaugural WSL team. Nichola is a versatile player who can play in a number of defensive positions across the backline and is known for her adaptability to different game plans each week and the pace she brings to the team, able to thwart opposition counter-attacks consistently!

Nichola is looking forward to challenging herself at the highest level on offer to female players in Tasmania and will no doubt have a significant role to play this season in our WSL team, as she proved to be a key asset in last seasons Women's Northern Championship title-winning team in her first season in the blue and white, finishing 3rd overall in the team Best and Fairest count last year.

NEW PLAYER Signing at United!!

Reede Beckett will be joining Launceston United SC for the 2021 Season!

Reede started his playing career at the North Launceston Eagles Junior Soccer Club, spent a season at Riverside Olympic and most recently played for Northern Rangers last season, breaking into the senior ranks. Reede is an attacking minded midfielder and who is aiming to establish himself in our Senior team this year.

Reede is 17 and currently in his final year of study at St Patrick's College and is excited to be working with our recently appointed Northern Championship Senior Men's team Head Coach and Club Technical Director Fernando Muñoz, after previously playing under him at Rangers.

We welcome Reede to the blue and white in 2021 and are looking forward to a big season!

Launceston United SC is pleased to announce the appointment of Fernando Muñoz as Northern Championship Senior Men’s Head Coach and Club Technical Director.

Originally hailing from Chile, Fernando arrives at United with significant experience from across the world as a coach and player, and has a strong history of developing youth players and building successful teams.

Fernando is excited at the prospect of working with our playing group at United and brings a strong philosophy of developing young players and has a desire to take our senior men’s team to the next level.

Fernando has recently relocated to Tasmania with his young family over the past 12 months and has previously coached at Northern Rangers during the 2020 season as their Northern Championship Senior Men’s Head Coach, taking the team to a second-place finish on the ladder in his first season coaching a team in Tasmania.

Fernando currently holds an OFC / NZF B Licence from the New Zealand Football Federation and also holds an FFA C licence. As club Technical Director, Fernando will work with our junior coaches to implement training plans and provide support and guidance.

Launceston United SC would like to welcome Chay Moir to the role of Assistant Coach of the Senior Men's Northern Championship team. Chay is keen to be involved with Senior Head Coach Fernando Muñoz and his new ideas and direction for Launceston United in the upcoming season.

Chay was a former player at United and is heavily involved in junior coaching and development at the club. Chay's passion and enthusiasm for the club and players adds to an already strong and committed coaching group in 2021!

Northern Championship 1 Senior Men's Coachs

Introducing our Championship 1 coaches for 2021, Tony Pearce and Chris Pickering! Tony and Chris bring a combined 90+ years of coaching and playing experience to our Championship 1 team.

As a coaching group they are focusing on scoring more goals and putting together an attacking game style for the upcoming season. They are keen to see as many faces at Birch Avenue on Tuesday night as possible for the first pre-season session starting at 6:30pm. A reminder to please bring a water bottle!
