LAUNCESTON UNITED SOCCER CLUB
At Launceston United we strive to be the club that the Launceston community sees as a centre of excellence in the delivery of a football experience.
We aim to do this by creating a welcoming, inclusive and safe environment for all of our players and supporters.
We support the development of players to reach their maximum potential, ultimately producing players with the character and ability to perform at the highest level.
The club fields three Statewide Teams. The Club joined the Men’s National Premier League in 2023 fielding a Senior Men’s and Under 21 side and the Women joined the Women’s Statewide Super League in2021. In 2022, the Women won back to back Statewide Cup and League titles.
The club fields teams in the Men's Northern Championship, Women's Northern Championship, Men's Northern Championship 1, Under 18's Northern Championship, Under 16's Northern Championship, Sunday Social league and in the Northern Tasmanian Junior Soccer Association competitions for Under 5’s through to Under 16’s players.
The Launceston United Soccer Club was formed in 1958.
In 1989 the club merged with"Launceston Matric" under the name of "Launceston Soccer & Sports Club". Launceston Matric had been promoted to the Tasmanian StateLeague from the Northern Premier League the previous year. The club lasted two seasons in the state competition before withdrawing in 1990 and returning to the Northern Premier League.
Launceston United reverted to their original name in 2008.
Launceston United's home colours are royal blue and white. The alternative or away colours can include white, green and red. The club theme song is sung by the clubs senior team's in the dressing rooms after a victory.
The club motto is Esse Quam Videri it is a Latin phrase meaning "To be, rather than to seem".
